Finishing the Year Strong Together

Celebrating faithful giving; recognizing continued need.

Palmer SDA E-News

Church Finances

We’ve done a lot as a church family this year, and we hope to do just as much next year (minus repaving the parking lot!). Palmer has always been a generous church with a strong heart for ministry. Under this roof alone, Amazing Grace Academy continues to thrive, shaping young lives every day. We are blessed to have a school on our campus and a church that embraces active ministry inside and outside these walls.

When we look closely at the numbers, they tell a story, not of shortage, but of sacrifice and commitment. Our vision is “A community striving to intentionally reflect the character of God.” And honestly, the financial story of this year reflects exactly that: trust, generosity, and a desire to care for what God has placed in our hands.

There is good news worth celebrating. Tithe is up from last year:
2025 YTD Tithe: $466,281.10
2024 YTD Tithe: $445,899.90

We have also raised over $30,000 for our parking lot!

Local church budget giving has also grown:
2024 YTD Church Budget Giving: $124,375.72
2025 YTD Church Budget Giving: $137,558.88

However, even with this growth, we are still behind where we need to be:
2025 YTD Budget Goal: $184,583.30
Current Deficit: –$47,024.42

This leads to an important question many people understandably ask: “What exactly is the local church budget?”

Tithe is a blessing that supports pastors, teachers, and the larger work of our Conference and worldwide church, but none of your tithe stays here to fund our local ministries or expenses. Our local church budget is what keeps ministry running at Palmer. Yes, it covers practical necessities like heat, insurance, and office supplies, but it also funds mission, evangelism, our subsidy for AGA, local hires, and the ministries that touch lives every week.

This article isn’t meant to guilt anyone. It’s simply meant to raise awareness and keep our church family informed. The Palmer church has always shown up when there’s a need. If you feel impressed to help close the gap, the most impactful way is to give directly to Local Church Budget.

New Local Radio Station

The Wasilla SDA Church is broadcasting a radio station. Tune in to 97.7 to hear music and messages from the church. We are also looking for local content to share our faith with the community. If you are interested in supporting this ministry contact Aaron Woehler at (907) 346-2014‬.

So… we had 4 people sign up. But there have been reports of the online registration not working well. We will adjust to host the Grace Race on a smaller scale. We will still have a 5K run/walk at 1pm on Sunday at the church. Participants will still be timed and cheered for. We will not have our inflatable running arch, course markings, or a potluck meal afterward. Come and run or walk, even if you are not registered.

Devotional Books for AGA

As we finished our fall week of worship last month, we had 58 students make a decision to follow Jesus and 17 desired to study for baptism.  As we continue to support and encourage the spiritual growth in our students, we will be giving a devotional book to each student in December.

If you have a gently used favorite devotional book for kids, moms or families that you've finished and would like to share with another student or family, please bring your gently used devotional books to the school.

If you'd like to help us purchase new books, please make your donation to AGA devotional books.

Thank you for your continued prayers for the ministry that happens at AGA every day!

In response to Typhoon Halong relief efforts, the Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has asked our Alaska Conference Adventist Community Services department to manage its warehouse in Anchorage. Hence, we are in desperate need of ACS-trained volunteers to assist with warehouse organization for approximately one-two weeks. If you can help, please contact Donna Contrell, Volunteer Coordinator, at 208-890-7228 for more information.
