Church Unity
The church/school calendar in May already looks crazy, but we are adding some important pieces that we want you to be a part of. There is so much good in our church! Recently, there has also been an increased level of frustration and concern about some specific issues that church leadership is processing. The big takeaway is that we have some work to do on church unity. Here is how you can participate as we pursue church unity that better reflects the character of God.
1. Pray. Yes, it is the biggest impact you can have. Church unity is what Jesus prayed for in John 17. Lift up our church leaders who have given a lot of extra time over the past few months to work for the unity of the church and are being asked to give a bit more.
2. Come to the Business Meeting on May 4 at 4:00 (after workbee at noon). We will not be addressing any specific controversial points at this meeting, but you should come anyway. Often, the controversial meetings draw a bigger crowd. Well, you should know about the positive stuff going on in the church, too.
3. Join us for a seminar with Charles Brown about Biblical Principles of Conflict Resolution on Sabbath May, 10. He will share during the church service and in the afternoon.
4. Join us for another seminar the next weekend (May 16-18) with Tim Zollbrecht. This seminar will give us tools to work productively and respectfully with people who think differently from us.
5. Share perspectives on church unity that will be helpful to church leaders. Send specific feedback to [email protected] anytime, or for a more immediate impact, send your feedback before the next Elders Meeting on June 29.
God’s good plans for our church are worth working through the occasional hard stuff!
State Fair Booth
The Alaska State Fair is fast approaching, and we will be hosting the Prayer Booth again this year.
We will be hosting a gathering on Saturday, May 3rd at 2:00 to get feedback from last year's volunteers. Please come by and let us know what went well last year, and what ideas you have for improvements this year.
If you would like to volunteer this year, you are also welcome to come join us for this gathering.

The order of events will go like this: 4:00 pm play outside 5:30 pm worship 6:00 play outside/inside games
Don’t Come to Church on Sabbath June 7!
We want you to come to church every Sabbath, but on June 7. The facilities will be shut down that day, no worship service, no Sabbath School, no fellowship meal and no driving into our parking lot. Sounds serious! We are having our parking lot resealed and it will not be ready to be driven on. There will be barricades set up to remind us. The Lord worked out the timing on this so well because we already scheduled to have our church campout at Camp Tukaskuya that weekend, and you are invited to worship out there.
Adventure Race
Maybe you have noticed that there is an adventure race on the calendar for May 18. If you like outdoor adventures that push you hard and you enjoy the bonding with friends that comes from those experiences, you should sign up. Registration and more information at https://www.palmersda.org/ministries/outdoor.

Ping Pong Table
Camp Tukuskoya is seeking the donation of a Ping Pong table; full size [5 x 9]; either new or used in excellent condition. Contact/text: David Evans, 907-841-0752
