Camp Meeting is Coming to Us

The Palmer SDA Church and AGA are hosting Camp Meeting this year.

Palmer SDA E-News

Because our Conference staff numbers are low and we are not hiring camp staff this year, we are making adjustments to make Camp Meeting possible with the workforce we have. One adjustment is that Camp Meeting will be shortened to just the weekend of July 25 and 26. Another adjustment is that we will be meeting at the Palmer Church and AGA to allow for less setup. There is always some disappointment when something we like isn’t done the way we have grown to like it. We will miss Camp Meeting as normal this year. Still, what is being planned will be a blessing.

The featured speaker is Pastor Randy Maxwell, vice president for administration and director of prayer ministries in the Washington Conference. He pastored churches in Idaho and Washington for 16 years and served 18 years at Pacific Press Publishing Association in Nampa, Idaho. Randy is the author of eight books, including If My People Pray, and his newest release, Closing Prayers: Facing the Final Crisis on Our Knees. Pastor Maxwell was also heard every weekend for four years on 820 AM The Word Seattle on the Hope for Today radio program.

Local hosting details are being worked out. We can use volunteers to host well. Contact Pastor Ryan to volunteer.

No Fellowship Meal Tomorrow

One excellent habit we have developed is sharing a fellowship meal after the church service every week. It takes us by suprise when the pattern changes, like it did for all the little kids who came forward for children’s story last Sabbath. Don’t be suprised when there is NO FELLOWSHIP MEAL TOMORROW. With all that is going on this Sunday we have maxed out our tables! See you next week (April 19) for fellowship meal!

A Busy Sunday

On April 13, there is a lot going on at the church and school! We have Team Meetings (8 am- 12 pm), Passover Lunch (12:30-2:00 pm), and the AGA Auction (3:00 pm) and Supper (4:00 pm)!

Based on the ripening of barley and the sighting of the new moon in Israel, Passover will be on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Because of the School auction we have had to change our time. We will have a Passover lunch. This will be a communion service. We will start at about 12:30 P.M. When you arrive you can go directly to your room for foot washing if you wish to do this. Then go to the Fellowship Hall where the Passover meal will be eaten. For this fellowship meal the only restrictions are that nothing should be prepared with leaven. This would mean no breads made with yeast, baking soda or baking power. It would also mean nothing cooked with alcohol and no vinegar.  If you have any questions about what to bring, please ask Dr. Oliver. We had a good turnout for this last year and from the feedback I received from the parents it seemed to be popular with the kids. All are welcome to attend.

John R. Oliver, M.D.
