Inreach Meeting
Our Inreach Team supports our church members in spiritual growth. We are called to care for each other. The Inreach Team will meet this Saturday at 5:30 pm to prepare the newsletter mailing and to discuss an agenda full of initiatives to help us help each other in our spiritual walk. You are invited to be a part of this important ministry.
John Paul Lavarnway
January 1, 1947 - January 12, 2026

Longtime Wasilla, Alaska, resident John Paul LaVarnway, 79, passed away at home surrounded by family on January 12, 2026.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary LaVarnway; children Amy, Joe, and Alyson LaVarnway. A devoted member of Palmer Seventh-day Adventist Church, John served in church, school, and community ministries. He cherished daily worship with Mary and loved studying Scripture. Known as a “teddy bear" to some, he was loving, patient, forgiving, generous, quick to help others, quietly paid for strangers' meals, and assisted those in need. He believed everything belonged to God.
A Celebration of Life will be held February 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Palmer Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2238 S. Inner Springer Loop, Palmer. Reception to follow.
Science Fair
Our school has a science fair on Sunday, March 1 at 3:00pm. This is a great opportunity to connect with students and family, support the 8th-grade fundraiser, and encourage some young scientists.
Vespers
It is nothing new, but it is still great! We have a weekly life group that meets at the Peterson’s home on Fridays at 6pm for food, fellowship, and a discussion following an episode of The Chosen. Contact Stacy and Laura Peterson for more information (907–441–4963).
Valentines Tea
We enjoyed a wonderful time of connection this past Sunday at the Valentine’s Tea. Here are some pictures of the event. Look for more ways to connect with our active church.
Abuse Prevention Training
Our church holds an annual abuse prevention training that is required for volunteers who work with children and is open to all who wish to engage with the abuse prevention efforts in our church. That meeting will be held on February 22 at 5pm and led by our abuse prevention officer, Stacy Peterson. If you are unable to make it in person, the training will be recorded and made available.
Lovewell
Our Lovewell connect group is going strong and making a difference. Adults are invited to connect on Sabbath mornings starting at 9am. Go check it out!
Camp Meeting Survey
Your voice matters! Please take a moment to complete the Southcentral Camp Meeting Survey at www.alaskaconference.org. The survey closes March 15, and your feedback will help shape a more meaningful camp meeting experience for all. Thank you for sharing your input.

O’Malley Church Evangelism
O’Malley Church is finishing up its first week of an evangelistic series. Attend live or watch online. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend or share a link.
