Ministry Team Meetings

Did you know that the ministries of our church are supported by 6 different ministry teams? Did you know that those teams met from 8am to 8pm this last Sunday? Did you know that you were invited? It is true. Our ministry is structured to be accessible to you. Engage with our ministry teams to help our church grow as a community that reflects the character of God.

Here are a few highlights from Sunday:

Worship Team: We have an announcement about announcements during the church service. We aren’t doing them anymore. Well, sort of. We are recommitting to making Church Life Story a story about what is happening in our church instead of a bunch of reminders. We will focus on one or two stories during that time, and the rest of the announcements will appear here, in the enews, on the screen before church, and occasionally as a bulletin insert. If you have something to share with the church, send it to [email protected] by noon on Thursdays. And if you ask to make a last-minute announcement, please know that we love you when we tell you that we don’t do that anymore. Engage with the Worship Team by contacting Tom Steinbrunner at [email protected].

Home Team- With 2/3rds of the money raised for the parking lot, the Home Team is considering what the next big project will be to care for our facility. They discussed the following projects that all need to be done and would appreciate feedback from the church as to how these should be prioritized. Give your feedback by filling out a survey here.

Storage- We have discussed a standalone storage space. At the meeting on Sunday, the team favored the option of building out the crawl space with real stairs and a concrete floor to keep the storage closer to where it will all be used.

Kitchen Remodel- Our church kitchen needs some love. The floors, cabinets, and countertops are all worn.

Water Softener- We have hard water. We need a water softener for the church and school. It will help preserve our plumbing.

The Basement Wall- The wall downstairs in the school is bowing in and needs fixed.

Lobby Refresh- The first thing you see when you walk into church is our lobby. The team has ideas of how to make it more welcoming.

You are all invited to the workbee on October 19, 12-4pm.

Engage with the Worship Team by contacting Marc Hamblen at [email protected].

Children’s Ministry Team- So much happens for our kids in our church. The team identified some ways they could use some help to keep it going strong. If you want to serve in these ways, contact Ashlee Starn (Children’s Ministry Team Leader):

Cradle Roll needs a pianist.

Kindergarten Sabbath School needs more teachers.

Youth Sabbath School class needs more adult help.

The team wants more VBS volunteers before committing to offering VBS in 2026.

Also, the Children’s Ministry Team has been given permission to throw things away! If you have something in the basement that you want to keep, come to the workbee on October 19 to help them decide what stays.

Engage with the Worship Team by contacting Ashlee Starn at [email protected].

Fellowship Team- This team is about to get much more organized. Most of the meeting was spent exploring better systems for how we do events in our church, funerals, baby shower, parties, fellowship meals… They are all a blessing. And we see some improvements to keep our volunteers from burning out and to make it all more organized. Some ways you can be a part of our fellowship efforts include:

Talking to Joel Starn about helping with Friday Night Glow or Saturday Gym Nights.

Talk with Cora Carleson about helping with the fellowship meal.

Let the nominating committee know that you are interested in coordinating events or inventorying and ordering supplies for church events.

Talk to Pastor Ryan about helping with outdoor ministry trips.

Engage with the Worship Team by contacting Joel Starn at [email protected].

Inreach Team- Two ministries the team wants to move forward, 1- Life Groups, 2- Member Care. We have some of our weekly life groups starting back up after summer. The experience of these life groups has been so positive that we know we need more of them. Seriously consider leading, hosting, or joining a life group. Talk with Pastor Ryan. The team also recognizes that we are not in touch with members like we want to be. If you are interested in getting training on how to visit church members for spiritual encouragement, also talk with Pastor Ryan.

Want to be a part of what the Inreach Team is doing? Come out to the Member Engagement activity tonight, October 3, 5:30pm. We share some food and stuff newsletters into envelopes and talk about how we can better connect with our members.

Engage with the Worship Team by contacting Ryan Rogers at [email protected].

Outreach Team- The team had to delay the scheduled Bible study advertising in October. Why? There has been such a strong response that we need to get more volunteers in order to connect with everyone who is asking for Bible studies! If you would like to learn how to facilitate Bible study with Discover Bible School, talk with Lee Grimstad.

You will also notice a table in the lobby advertising a pie-making outreach. The team is reaching out through Thanksgiving pies and wants the church to be a part of it!

Engage with the Worship Team by contacting Lee Grimstad at [email protected].

Special Meal this Wednesday!

Dr. Oliver will be leading in some special feast meals on the following Wednesdays at 5:30pm. Please join and bring food to share for the fellowship meal. You are invited to join the celebration and gain a spiritual blessing.

Seminar Weekend with LS Baker Jr.

Life on the Edge of Eternity: Daniel and Revelation: Discovering the Final Mission for God’s People in the Final Days

Life on the Edge of Eternity could be viewed as a terror if not embraced as a privilege that generations heretofore longed to experience. As time creeps ever closer to the portal of endlessness, the era of sin in which we live plods steadily toward chaos culminating in its ultimate and permanent end. With our eyes unwaveringly fixed on Jesus, the peace of the Comforter buttressing our hearts, and the Gospel Commission motivating our actions, God’s people will discover that each has a role to play for each has been born for such a time as this.

Explore apocalyptic prophecy with Dr. LS Baker Jr, Bible scholar and archaeologist, and unearth your part to play as the curtain begins to drop on life as we’ve known it in part one of this instructional seminar.

Part 1- Visions and Dreams: Why is the Kingdom Sequence indispensable?

Part 2- Cosmic Conflict Unveiled: What is the role of God’s people in the Spiritual Battle?

Part 3- End-time Events: How will the era of sin come to a close?
