Information from the North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC)

Our leaders at the NPUC have an aggressive plan mapped out for helping us find the next president for the Alaska Conference. They have been intentional to include our members in this process.

What to expect in the presidential search process:

1. The overall process is expected to take 3-4 months.

2. There are two surveys: one for members and one for local church and conference leaders.

3. The survey results will be collected and collated by NPUC and provided to the Alaska Conference executive committee.

4. Suggested names of candidates will be assessed by the needs and strengths noted in the surveys along with administrative skills, relational skills, and experience.

5. Qualified persons will be asked to consider being on a list of potential candidates.

6. The executive committee will meet throughout the process to pray and work through the election process.

7. Once the top ranked candidate is identified, this person will have an in-person interview.

8. With a successful interview, the top ranked candidate will be extended a call to pray about and then accept or decline.

Here is a rough timeline that the NPUC has set. Please pray for the process.

November 4 Member Survey Closes (moved from October 28)

November 7 Executive Committee meeting to process survey and select top candidates from vetted list.

November 18 Executive Committee meeting to review resumes and narrow the list to three candidates.

December 4 Executive Committee Zoom interview with top candidate.

December 8 or 15 Executive Committee meeting in-person interview.

Testimony Sabbath

Join us for a day of fellowship, testimony, and singing! On Sabbath, November 30, we are planning to have a time of praise and singing at 2:00pm. Bring your favorite Bible verses about Thanksgiving, favorite songs, an instrument and come join us! Don't play anything? Can't sing? That's ok! Come enjoy the music and spend time with our church family! More information to come soon.
