Jesus Is Always With Us

Laughter and voices echoed across Camp Tuk as the students trekked through the drippy woods, searching for hidden items along the trail.  "This is the most fun I've had in a long time,"  "We should do this every year," and similar comments were heard drifting through the camp.  

AGA Outdoor School provided the space for lots of fun memories at the beginning of the new school year.  The grades 5-8 students enjoyed a few days enjoying nature, learning and practising skills, and building new friendships.

The beginning of a new school year can be a time of anxiety and fear for new students, students moving to a different classroom or a different teacher, and students adjusting to changes in routines. 

We all deal with change, but some are more challenging than others. 

How we respond to change by building new friendships, appreciating time spent together, and learning new things can help make changes less scary or overwhelming. 

Jesus knew His disciples were facing change and didn't understand what was coming, so He spent a lot of time praying for them, teaching them, and helping them see and feel His love daily. 

As we grow and experience changes, fears, anxieties, and new situations, we can look to Jesus and be reminded that some things never change. Jesus' love for us is always the same, and there is nothing we can do to make Him love us more or less. 

Life is full of new experiences, changes, and uncertainties, but Jesus will always be with us through new school years, jobs, loss, illness, and winters in Alaska.
