Vacation Bible School (VBS)
The full $1,000 needed for VBS has been provided. This ministry is now fully funded! Thank you for making it possible to invest in our children and community.

School Auction
Our AGA auction was a great success. With a strong turnout and a fun evening together, we raised over $12,000 to support our school. Thank you for showing up and giving so generously.

Local Church Mission
We’ve been emphasizing support for our Local Church Mission, which has faced some financial strain over the past couple of years. Our annual budget is $232,000, and reaching that goal will take consistent, faithful giving.
In the first quarter, we received just under $39,000, short of our $58,000 quarterly goal, but still a meaningful step forward. Every gift matters, and we’re grateful for each one as we continue moving our ministries ahead here at the Palmer SDA Church.

Finishing Strong on Key Projects

Parking Lot
After a tremendous year of giving, we are now just $4,738.80 away from completing the $50,000 parking lot resealing project. Your generosity has been remarkable. Let’s finish strong.

Missionary Car
This project came together quickly and has already been put to use. We’re now just $392.98 away from fully closing out the fundraising. Thank you for helping bring this across the finish line.

Altogether, our congregation gave $184,495.74 in the first quarter of this year! (Including local church, tithe, offerings, and conference giving.)

Pastoral Search Update

No, we haven’t hired a new pastor yet, but the process has started.

On Monday, May 4, 6:30pm, we have an important meeting. Conference President, Rodney Mills, and VP Ashwin Somasundram will be at the Palmer Church to talk with us about the pastoral search process. They will be asking our members questions and taking careful notes to help guide them in gathering the right candidates for the ministry here. This will be an opportunity to learn about the process, ask questions, share input, and have face-to-face dialogue with our conference leadership. It will also be an opportunity to have a similar dialogue about the hiring process for AGA's next principal. Plan to be there!

To make it easier to fit into your busy calendar. The Conference is providing a supper at the church at 6pm. Come share the meal and join the conversation.

Baptismal Preparation

Several people have expressed interest in being baptized before Pastor Ryan leaves. This is great! Here’s the plan.

There will be baptismal preparation classes in Pastor Ryan’s office on Sabbaths, May 9, 16, & 30, and June 6 and 13. Kids from 9:30-10:30am and adults from 1:30-2:30pm.

Spring Concert

It is almost time for school to be out for the summer! But the time we have left is full. You are invited to come enjoy an evening and show support for our school by attending the AGA Spring Concert at 6:30pm, on Thursday, May 7. 

Alaska Camps

VBS

VBS is coming the 1st week of June! We need a little help. We need some adult volunteers! Please contact Kayla @ 907-354-3009.

Urgent Mission Group Need

We are blessed to host many mission groups from outside of Alaska. There is a group from Weimar Academy planning to be here May 12-26. Their main work project is installing insulation and interior siding on cabins at Pioneer Campgrounds, but the contractor they had is no longer able to join the trip. Without a knowledgeable project leader, they will not be able to help with that project, and possibly not come at all. We are looking for 4-6 people with carpentry skills who could each take a day or two to lead and supervise their work. Contact Pastor Ryan (907) 795-7158.
