Summer Break

The temperature doesn't feel like summer, but the church and school calendars are planning on it!

Lovewell Summer Schedule

Our Lovewell connect group has been going strong through the school year and will continue strong. We will be taking a break over the summer. There will be no Lovewell gatherings during July or August. Plan to come through the end of June and to restart at the beginning of September.

Also, there will be no Lovewell on May 23 (Memorial Day).

Thank you to all of you who have participated and helped to make Lovewell a meaningful time of connection and spiritual growth.

Fair Booth- Volunteers Needed

We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our upcoming Prayer Booth at the Alaska State Fair, August 21 – September 7.

If you are interested in making a difference and gaining valuable experience, please consider joining us for a morning or afternoon shift.

Your time and effort will be greatly appreciated!  Call Carol Withey for details, 907-854-6019.

Pastoral Search Update

The church was invited to meet with the Conference leadership on Monday, May 4th. There was a good turnout of attendees. Conference President, Rodney Mills, asked our congregation some great questions to get a clear idea of what type of Pastor would be a good fit for our church. He asked for our recommendations. To recommend someone you think would be a good fit, you can give your suggestions to Stacy Peterson. Your recommendations need to fit some criteria. If they are outside of Alaska, they must be ordained or commissioned and must have been in their current church for at least 3.5 years. All recommendations must include the person’s full name, the church they currently serve at, and contact information (phone number and/or email).

Baptismal Preparation

Classes start this Sabbath!

There will be baptismal preparation classes in Pastor Ryan’s office on Sabbaths, May 16 & 30, and June 6 & 13. Kids from 9:30-10:30 am and adults from 1:30-2:30 pm.

Adventure Race

We are one month away from an unforgettable event! Sunday, June 7, we are holding our second adventure race. This is an all-day team effort that will leave you wonderfully exhausted and full of stories.

Here are the details: Ages 12+. The race will be run in teams of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) with either a legal guardian for both kids or with two background-screened adults with two kids. Register by May 15. Will include biking, hiking, paddling, navigation, and skill challenges on a 25-mile course at Eklutna Lake.

Contact Pastor Ryan for more information. 907-795-7158
