Moving On
News from Pastor Ryan
Church Family,
After much thought and prayer, our family has decided to move out of Alaska.
This has not been an easy decision. We have so much gratitude for our seven years here with you. Many of our most cherished life moments are tied to this church and school community. You have welcomed us, supported us, and journeyed with us in ministry. We have seen God at work here, and we are genuinely grateful to have been a part of it.
The deciding factor for this transition is to be closer to family. We feel a growing responsibility and desire to be closer and more available to aging parents. We will be moving back to Washington State, where most of our family lives.
I will be stepping away from full-time pastoral work for a season to focus more intentionally on family. Alyssa has accepted a teaching position at the Adventist school in Olympia.
We will be making the move in August, which gives us four more months together. I recognize that the move will require time and focus; still, I intend to stay present and engaged in the ministry of our church as long as I am here. I will also be working closely with our elders and conference leadership to help prepare for a healthy transition, both for the period without a pastor and for the eventual arrival of the next one.
As we go through this transition, I hope you know God has been so good to the Palmer SDA Church, and He isn’t going to stop blessing here. This is an incredible church family. We have so much to be thankful for. This community is marked by dedication, generosity, friendship, so much young life, and a heart of service. God is leading here!
We are praying for you, and we are hopeful for what is ahead.
With gratitude,
Pastor Ryan and Alyssa Rogers
