Camp Tuk
A long list of projects can feel overwhelming. Checking off completed projects feels so good. This good feeling is the feeling you get this summer at Camp Tukuskoya.
Lodge Fireplace—In May, Jim Trana from BC Canada led an effort to update the Lodge Fireplace. Many volunteers helped complete the fireplace installation on successive Sundays, including Father’s Day, to finish before the Corona California Missionary Group effort.
Ceiling Fan—Before returning the scaffolding for the fireplace project, Randy Polk (volunteer Camp Tukuskoya Ranger) installed a Lodge ceiling fan to bring the heat down from the ceiling. The scaffolding was borrowed from the Sandviks. Thank you to Ibbie, Randy, and Patti Sandvik.
The lodge is comfortably warm and looks stunningly beautiful.
Boardwalk—The Corona Missionary Group worked hard to construct two Boardwalks to assist walkers in enjoying God's creation around Camp Tukuskoya. The north 84-foot boardwalk is complete, and the 380-foot south boardwalk is nearly full, awaiting donations of more pressure-treated 2x6s. The boardwalks are indeed a wonder out here on Flat Lake.
Bathhouse- The Corona Missionary Group also painted the Bathhouse inside and out, which has never looked better.
Project Porcupine—This week, volunteers are enjoying a spiritual retreat while continuing to make progress on the improvements at camp. It is not too late to help out. The group effort continues through Sunday, July 14. Camp Tukuskoya is being renewed and modernized by volunteers who recognize the vital youth mission right here in Alaska, where thousands of youth never witness the love of Jesus in a Christian youth camp setting.
Other ways to be involved:
Camp Dedication and Youth Concert- You are invited to the Camp
Tukuskoya concert on Sabbath, July 7, from 3-5 pm, followed by a Camp Dedication at 5 pm.
We are still recruiting musicians to share. Please email Raquel Acevedo [email protected] and bring your instrument and voice to participate in this event.
Bring a folding chair and finger food to share a picnic-style concert on the field.
Please come by boat or catch our shuttle boat at 3930 S Purinton Parkway, Big Lake, Alaska. Once you arrive at Mosquito Point, call Randy at 907-203-5108 for a short boat ride.
Book Camp Tuk:
The Blessed Hope Church enjoyed Camp Tukuskoya last week and rebooked the exact dates for next year. Please consider scheduling your time at Camp Tuk for your church, school or family. We want to support your ministry with the beautiful and improved setting at Camp Tuk.

Seeker
Are you a God Seeker?
I am not referring to what some call a life and practice of ‘spiritual formation’.
I am not referring to the study and practice of ‘mental and mind healing powers’.
Rather, I simply mean in very simple terms – Do you seek God to give meaning, to enrich, to strengthen you in your life’s journey?
I suppose I became a seeker from at a time of my first remembrances as a pre-schooler in Tiny Tot Sabbath School. I remember rushing to the felt board to place my white cutout felt angel on the large blue felt board. Even then I had a simple child’s understanding that there is a love that means to protect me. I suppose through each developmental stage of life I continued to be in awe of a God that is love – even when some of those stages might have been rough and rocky. Even today as an older adult I still am in awe of the meaning behind my felt angel.
I truly believe that there is a thirst in every person to seek meaning, comfort and love.
Searching for the water - the Water of Life; John 4:1-42
Eagerly searching; Psalm 119:10, Philippians 4:8, Deuteronomy 4:29, Matthew 6:33
Engage in worship with others and have personal time of study, reading, prayer and meditation;
Psalm 95:6, Psalm 132:7, Matthew 6:6
Keep searching; Psalm 32:8, Psalm 14:2, Hebrews 11:6, Proverbs 8:17
Each day reflect on a promise of God: Isaiah 26:3, John 14:27, Psalm 32:8
Reaching out to God-He will take your hand; Psalm 27:1, 1Chronicles 16:11-22, Psalm 78:7
Have a wonderful seeking journey,
Sincerely,
A Fellow Seeker
